Who are we?

EKO-FLUID is a non-profit company, established on 20 November 2023, whose activity is the management of waste oils in accordance with the Law on Extended Producer Responsibility for the management of special waste flows and the Law on the Management of Additional Waste Flows.

EKO-FLUID is committed to establishing a system for managing waste industrial and motor oils, in compliance with environmental protection principles and current legal regulations in North Macedonia, as well as international standards.

The company aims to build long-term and strong cooperation with its clients and state institutions and, in line with European regulations, to minimise the negative impact of waste oils on the environment and promote a responsible attitude towards them, enabling a better quality of life for all.

Mission

We organize the responsible collection and recycling of used motor oils, supporting companies in fulfilling their obligations and contributing to environmental protection.

Vision

To build a system that extends the life cycle of used motor oils.

  • Integrity

We work to high ethical standards and moral principles, without compromise, including in difficult situations. We treat confidential information responsibly and with care.

  • Client focus

The needs and the satisfaction of our clients are at the centre of how we work. We aim to provide a quality service and to build long-term trust.

  • Expertise

Our knowledge and experience are the foundation of the quality of our work. We keep developing our expertise, we share knowledge, and we work towards continuous improvement.

Our system

Eko Fluid provides a fully organised process — from collecting the waste industrial oil, through environmentally standardised transport and the proper documentation, to its delivery to an appropriate site for recycling and treatment. With an established system and verified partners, we make sure waste oil is managed correctly and returns as a resource in the circular economy.

How does the system work?

  1. The auto service collects waste motor oil during daily operations.

  2. An authorised collector collects the oil from the service location, in accordance with the agreement.

  3. An authorised recycler treats the oil in accordance with environmental and legal standards.

Investing in infrastructure

Eko Fluid invests in developing the system for the proper management of waste industrial oils by providing specialised equipment to its partners and Eko Services.

With the right equipment and professional support, we make the collection, storage and handover of waste industrial oils safer, creating a more efficient and more sustainable recycling system.

Obligations of “EKO-FLUID”

Our company is committed to establishing a waste motor oil management system in compliance with environmental protection principles and current legal regulations in North Macedonia, as well as international standards.

  • EKO-FLUID will subsidize all aspects of the waste motor oil management process, including the establishment of necessary infrastructure, collection of waste motor oils from source locations, and transportation to licensed recyclers. Our goal is to fully close this cycle while adhering to all applicable rules and standards in environmental protection and sustainable development.

  • EKO-FLUID is also committed to organizing educational campaigns to increase public awareness about waste motor oils and their role in environmental protection. The goal of these campaigns is to raise awareness and educate citizens on how to properly sort waste motor oils into specific containers to ensure their ecological processing. Through these educational and informational initiatives, we aim to actively involve the community in achieving responsible handling of waste motor oils as a significant resource for recycling.

Obligations of “EKO-FLUID” customers

Which companies are legally required to enter into waste motor oil management contracts?

  • All companies that import or produce oil-based products and place them on the market in North Macedonia are legally required to enter into a contract with a licensed waste motor oil management company. EKO-FLUID guarantees efficient waste motor oil management services in accordance with legal obligations.

  • According to legal provisions, each member is obligated to submit quarterly reports based on sales. The report is divided into specifications depending on the production material of waste motor oils. The quarterly report must be submitted no later than the 15th day of the current quarter for the previous quarter. Each member is also required to submit an annual report no later than January 15 for the previous year. Each member is responsible for the accuracy of the submitted data and reports.

From waste to resource

  1. We organise collection

Waste oil is taken from workshops and industry, safely and with full documentation.

  2. Renewal

It goes to a licensed processor, where waste becomes a resource again.

  3. Recycling

The waste motor oil goes back into use, and the environment stays protected.

Our contribution

Eko Fluid actively contributes to the development of sustainable management of waste motor and industrial oils, and to advancing the circular economy in North Macedonia.

Working with companies, institutions and the public, we share knowledge, support good practice, and contribute to building an efficient system for collecting, treating and reusing waste motor oils.

Our contribution rests on education, partnership and the continuous improvement of the system, with the aim of protecting the environment and creating sustainable value for society as a whole.
